Chad Lindsay-OL Projected Position: Offensive guard Hometown: The Woodlands, TX Height: 6-foot-3 Weight: 307 lbs 40-yard dash: 5.4 secs Bench max: 425 pounds Squat max: 530 pounds
Lindsay has the face of Baby Huey but the strength of the Hulk. With a maximum bench press of 425 pounds and a maximum squat of 530 pounds, you’d be well-advised to not get between the boy and his buffalo wings. With fantastic agility and foot work, Lindsay is primed to compete early for a position at offensive guard, although Saban has also said he will get a look at the Center position. Most of the experts agree that the guy has freakish strength combined with great balance, which allows him to really power off the ball and through the defender as necessary.
Lindsay has over 20 D1 scholarship offers to choose from, including offers from both LSU and Alabama. However the Crimson Tide staff, including his primary recruiter, Bo Davis, was able to form a close relationship with the ‘biggun and convince him that the Capstone is the place to be.
Lindsay was named to the 2008 5A Texas Football 1st Team All-State squad and to the 2008 5A Texas Football All Junior Team. However his athletic accolades pale in comparison to his academic devotion. He is on pace to graduate in December, which should allow him to enroll early at the Capstone for the spring semester of 2010.
