Only days after National Signing Day, and within hours of the University of Tennessee coaching staff boasting about how they were going to build a wall around Memphis, Saban was able to sneak in and convince this blue chip recruit to commit to the Crimson Tide.

Malone’s commitment did more for the Tide than just allow Saban to send a one-finger salute to former Tide coach Lance Thompson. His commitment gave the Tide another significant deep-ball threat.

Malone has fantastic hands and a Julio-esque ability to create separation from his defender. He has top-shelf explosiveness and lateral movement that can leave a defender in a daze. Couple that with great sideline awareness, and the Crimson Tide may have found a perfect compliment to Julio Jones.

Ranked as a Rivals 4-star recruit currently, expect a 5-star ranking if Malone capitalizes on his senior season campaign.
